Potential Career Interests:

  • 3D Modeller
  • 3D Artist
  • 3D Environment Artist
  • Character Artist

I would like to follow the 3D modelling pathway because i am more confident in the area, I don’t really have the confidence with 2D art but I use it for ideas and development for anything that I do in 3D. I like the Environmental art pathway, but I also like just a general 3D modeller pathway where you develop assets for the scene and part in game like guns.

Job 1:

Looking into starter jobs I found this job that fits into my parameters it is a job that is based around 3D character modelling, and it is something that I have always wanted to do and is extremely interesting to me. The work is all 3D modelling but also working with a team to generate characters to fit the story or the theme, It requires 3 programs which I have previously learnt but also uses some new ones that I don’t know that I would look into. This job requires you to work with character modelling with at least one triple AAA game and have your name in the credits as well as the experience with all of the programs this means that you would most likely have interacted with these programs if you had worked on a triple AAA game because they are industry standards. Character modelling is job that requires a fair amount of experience with anatomy as well which allows you to envision how a model should look and how a character muscles should looks how there size should change and what areas would change with gender. The responsibility for this job is communication with a team that will be working on said character allows others peoples input or help with how you should improve the model and assistance with how something should change in what and what should be animated these are key things that the company wants.

The layout artist side of this job focuses on 2D art and setting layout for the evirmonents that you are going to building and working on this also allows you to get help from other people in the team to expand on how your environment looks and how and what the players with interact with this job also works with the programming side of things.
