Reflection

This section is going to be a reflection of my work that has been placed onto my portfolio, I have already broken down why i put them in there but i will break down each project and quickly reflect on it. I also would like to review some of my newer works and explain how I am going to improve my portfolio, as a whole this will also allow me to make it look more professional for my university interview.

How has your research influenced the planning and creation of your promotional materials including your UCAS Personal Statement?

When producing my portfolio I started by looking into at people in industries portfolio for presentation and ideas of how I should lay it out, I also looked into peers and people who have left in the previous year for inspiration. I also began looking into skills and what my areas of industry are and where I would want to put myself in the years to come looking into 3 different areas in the games industries that I am really interested in that I would want to move into. When researching I looked into areas that incorporated my skills and the main skills that employers for the jobs that I am interested are looking for Making sure that I start adjusting my work to fit these standards will help with my uni work and my later projects.

Reflect on your learning and skills – What you have done and why you have done it?

I have learnt lots of new programs and I have been adjusting my workflow and trying to improve my skills, this year I learnt how to use zbrush and substance designer which are 2 programs that I continue to improve with and work to be better with them. The main points of this year has been working on my time management skills and for this I have improved a little by changing to instead of typing but to using videos to show how I did things as well as adding voice overs to instead of typing because that is one of my down falls when it comes to doing my work.

Reflect on peer and tutor feedback.

When doing project I try to get a large amount of peer feedback as well as try to get tutors to give me assistance to help improve my work to bring it to its best. The start of the project I asked for help from peers on what idea to go forward with for my portfolio which ended with me doing the bolter and warhammer 40k diorama that I will be later fully finishing I asked my peers about the textures the colours the lighting everything that I could do to make the theme stand out when you look at it and this is something I have learnt from watching peers and talking to my tutors.

What have you learnt during this project?

I have learnt even more about time management, and have lean’t more about the industry as a whole.
