Meaning of Cyberpunk is a type of science fiction based period where a lawless subculture of an oppressive society is dominated by computers and technology, most depictions of Cyberpunk have lower and upper classes of people where the upper classes are seem to have the idea that they are so far above the lower class that most of them find lower class citizens disgusting and refuse to be with them meaning they have private services and such where lower class cannot visit they also tend to live in the higher parts of the cities depending on there profession and the lower class tend to live in the lower parts of the cities back allys and slum areas where they gag fro space.

I based this conclusion on research into games like cyberpunk and dues ex as well looking into movies/tv shows such as Altered Carbon and the 5th element researching I came up with this as a general meaning and understanding of cyberpunk.

Mood Board – Cyberpunk Characters

This mood board focuses on Cyberpunk style characters, these characters either have augmentation or cybernetic enhancements to there bodies this can be arms, eyes any part of the human body that has been replaced by advanced tech that will enhance that part of the body for the user, this i generally excepted by society but some games like Dues Ex bring it to a new level making it so that the Augmented as they are referred are discriminated against, beaten, killed and imprisoned the first game features a group hacking augments causing people with augments to become aggressive and loose control of there upgrades and attacking people but games like Cyberpunk (What we have seen of it) Shows that pretty much all of society accepts augmentation the theme of cyberpunk can be take with characters in 2 different ways either alienation or acceptance but class in society is formed. I chose each of these images because there connection to the them with either the cybernetic implants and modifications or for the punk style clothing, another thing that makes really interested in a lot of these images is how the colours can go from bland to bright burst.

Mood Board – Cyberpunk Weapons

This mood board focuses on Cyberpunk style weapons, the weapons have a high tech style to them with ideas that expand on new and future tech, their shapes are abnormal and consist of lots of smooth and shape edges but all of them still look inspired my modern weapons just with a more tech feel to them with some of the attachments and there different firing capabilities. Weapons range in games and movies some of them keep features of modern weapons and some adapt them some even make new guns entirely. Weapons in cyberpunk theme to have rugged look but some seem to have a neon colours and highlights to them which makes it look Sci-fi and futuristic with the colours and difference. Weapon have scaring and commonly with lower class weapon makers will use scrap metal and anything they can get there hands on when high class ones will use only the finest metal and products.

Mood Board – Cyberpunk Environment

This is a mood board that focuses on Cyberpunk style environments, the environments consist of mainly streets views and some open plazas. Common depictions of Cyberpunk shows sprawling high cities or slum looking area where every bit of space is filled with a new building the upper class in this type of society is mainly in the higher parts of the cities and the lower class live in the lower parts meaning that the upper parts become massive sprawling wonderlands of advancement and production and the lower become slum like areas where everyone is fighting for a place and police and regulation is hard and tough when you do get them. The cities and environments are like 2 sides of a coin some will look nice a developed some will look rusted and scraped where people are just trying to survive with what they can find, these images all represent this they show big cities.

I created this mood board following the idea of cyberpunk vehicles, while collecting these images I found that they use all 3 Cars, Bikes and flying cars a mix of all 3 the class society seem to have more of the hover cars and seem to have a lot of the more advanced tech then the lower class. The vehicles of the different classes look different just like weapons and seem to improve the more money you have, improving with finish and material when lower class they seem more scrap and part slapped together. Looking at the colours they seem to be very different from there character counter parts which has a more bland tone and sometimes explosions of colour but I found that he vehicles seem to either be a bright colour or have light highlights or something to emit a nice bright colour that over does the dark tones. The vehicles all seem to have a slick style to them with a more pointed end to each car with a smooth body through out and lights and neon strips set out through the main body while looking at these I also looked at police and emergency but could no really find many emergency only found police which seem to have a some neon strips for lights but that it and are less explosions of colour and follow the basic police colours which while looking why seems to be because in most cases the police are meant to be either the bad guys or are not meant to stand out while every person is meant too.

I made a mood board to use a ideas for cluttering scenes, small things like boxes and crates are good scene fillers and allow me to fill in unwanted empty areas. I chose each of these images because its how they could look if they were sitting somewhere for a while they would get graffiti and look different so there bland colour would slowly be change to a bright collection of colour each asset that fills a scene could be changed into something that fits the scene with more lights and strips of neon but also adding in environmental changes like graffiti and other things like weather and dirt. This was that hardest mood board to make and find images for but it was easier a little because you can technically use any type of sci-fi box and change how it looks with these elements.
