Week 1: (Starts: 21/10/2019):
Block Out & final Asset designs:
During this week I focused on the blockouts and finishing off the final ideas for my assets, finish which ones I liked and seeing if I could merge ideas together to make a better idea in the end. The block outs where all mainly done but some of the smaller assets still needed to be blocked out which only took a small amount of the week in the end most of the week was spent on the final assets.





Using unreal I had already blocked out my scene so I moved onto generating its final idea for it this was the main part of the mineshaft the floor and the cave that surrounds my assets I had a few problems that I had to solve during this time one of them being the fact that the light kept going through my asset because it did not have a back face only a front so I had to make a box shell to allow the light to work.
What I will do next week: Finish of the assets and get the unwraps done, I have already been doing this with some of them but mainly just finishing the assets so i plan to finish all of that next week.
Week 2: (Starts: 21/10/2019):
Finish off assets & finish off unwraps:
During this week I began working on finishing my assets and doing more unwraps ready for texturing, I made a few modifications to parts of my models so that they were easier to unwrap and fixed part where I had additional vertices and other parts where the Edges where not connected for some reason. This week was very tediousness and consisted of a lot of back and forth between maya and substance so that I could check my uv and see how they would bake together



What I will do next week: Next week I will be moving onto to substance designer and substance painter and testing some of them in engine as well to see how it looks.
Week 3: (Starts: 11/11/2019):
Textures and Unwrap fixing:
This week I focused on Texturing my scene starting with substance designer and moving onto painter. I made my base texture for my rocks and the shell of my scene I used designer so that I could make some really nice looking custom rock textures that will be used for the rocks and the main body of the mineshaft, substance designer is new to me so i am going to work hard to learn it and improve as I go. Moving into designer I began working on some texture for my other assets by adding in things like dirt textures but only adding them where dirt would occur and using my research to look at how rust and dirt is on each asset.



What I will do next week: Final week will be placed into engine and finishing off my lighting ready for the final presentation and get some screenshots for my artstation.
Week 4: (Starts: 18/11/2019):
UE4 integration & final presentation: During this week it was wrapping up and finishing my project the main parts that needed to be done for this week were all my blog updates, UE4 integration and final presentation, I had some trouble at the start with UE4 but fixed them quickly with some help from google and peers. I spent the first 2 days with unreal and the last 3 working on the presentation and all of the type ups done. The lighting for the 2 days was something I was struggling with and ended up looking really nice and working really well in engine all in all I think the work has turned out really nice.
