Idea Titles: Desert of riches
Specialization: 3D Modeling
Project Summery: This idea will be focused on a mine shaft diorama that a viewer can walk around in and explore the collapsed mine shaft adding in some programming using UE4 like a time system as well as some torches that turn on and off when the time of day changes. The mine will have several small assets that will add to the diorama but the main focus will be the mine in general as well as the collapsed part of that allow sunlight to enter the mine but also allow some of the natural light at night to come in turning on and off the torches depending on the time of day.
Style: Realistic textures old and rust but not abandoned
Audience: My scene does not have the contents that makes it 18+ but while doing the research for this I looking into 2 games that have a 18+ rating due to the games mechanics and features, as well they follow the style of realistic textures. Examples of the games I looked into are as follows:

Research and Ideas:
Looking into mine shafts from games and real life I have made a mood board that collects some images of object and part of the scene this includes terrain object, character objects and lighting objects, this allows me to get a general idea of what things could look like and allows me to mock up some idea of how i want things to look and how they will look like a collection. Not only that I have also came up with the list of software I am going to be using during this project and how I am going to be using it.
Idea Titles: The Great Escape
Specialization: 3D Modeling
Project Summery: This Idea will be focused on a jail interior diorama that a viewer can walk around in and explore the jail including the sheriffs office, check in lobby and the cells. I will be using programs like UE4 to add some lighting and substance painter to add some ascetically pleasing textures.I will be programming small elements like lights that flicker and adding some other features if I have time to bring the diorama even more to life. There will be a big whole in the back of the wall that will be adding in lots of the lighting which will allow me to add small detail lighting the like the flickering in other parts of the design and in darker areas.
Style: Realistic textures and rough textures
Audience: Looking into my scene I found that 18+ would fit my scene and style better, I have continued looking into games and films with the realistic style and they all seem to have 18+ due to blood, gore and the language that is used by the western people.
Research and Ideas:
Using the keywords western and jail cell I began looking into designs and the interiors and exteriors of the building trying to get an idea of how big the buildings where and how a layouts could fit. They are very square buildings with very few reinforcements to stop people from breaking in and freeing there friends. I have collected sets of images that I will be using as inspiration for my project I have done this to make it easier in the idea and proposal sections of so that I can refer back to this mood board and to help give me some more ideas and inspiration for my final mood boards.
Final Idea:
Specialism: 3D modelling
Diorama: Western Mineshaft
Style: Realistic
Audience need’s: I believe this meets my audience’s needs because, the model will be realistic and will be detailed as well as being visually pleasing to the eye, adding in realistic lighting I think will also allow the project to fit my audience more due to them liking more realistic action and highly exaggerated action, where there is too much gore that its unrealistic but both seem to be in my audience but I am going for a higher focus on the more realistic side of them,I am making fit the theme by adding in small aesthetics that makes it look western this can be the pickaxes with the town they were made linking back the theme to the sign and mine carts all have a western text style to them to make them look western.
For my final idea,I am planning to make a minshaft in UE4 I will be making the inside and small entrance that player can walk into, there will be objects like a mine cart, pickaxes, dynamite and lanterns, these are all things you would fine in a mineshaft of this time period so I have gone for the creation of these assets. The entire scene will be fairly dark but will have small parts of natural lighting that will allow the person viewing it to see areas where cave ins happen due to the explosives, to add the realism for this diorama in the darker ares I will add gas lamps for people to see objects in these areas.
Proposal:
Proposal:
Title: Desert of riches
Outline: My diorama will be a small amount of a outside of a mineshaft but main focused on the inside allows the viewer to look inside and see what the entrance looks like.there will be extra objects in the scene,to make it feel more like a active mineshaft with minecarts and pickaxes but also lanterns for lighting dark areas in the mineshaft, I am plan to make it in a realistic style, with a detailed and realistic models to make it more pleasing for the viewer. I chose this one over the other idea because how I can make a atmospheric and claustrophobic scene that allows the player to feel like they are there in the mineshaft themselves, but also this projects allows me to explore new programs like zbrush to make the rocks.
How will the design and art style meet the needs of your audience?: I believe that not just the design will appeal to my audience’s but also the atmosphere and look being realistic allow my audience how a mineshaft would have looked I have used the research I have gathered to help shape my project and change it to fit my audience more which will help it be more pleasing to the age range from looking into my audience I found they prefer a more realistic style of project, with a simple yet complicated looking design,I have always been fond of realistic design as it show the two major things of a model and balances them perfectly texturing details and the models detail 3D.

Final Idea Moodboards
Mineshaft Mood board: I selected these images because they give good example of mineshafts and allow me to develop a larger idea for layouts, this will help with the start of the diorama allowing me to come up 4/5 different layouts using these as inspiration to fuel the rest of the work and to help improve it and fit the theme.
Western Additions: I have selected these images into one titles due to there not being too much western looking content but I have selected the ones that linked to the theme and the idea the most, may that be colour, design, or texture. I have chosen each image due to these 3 things looking at colour and how it fits that area finding that rust is very common thing in mineshafts in those times and learning that carts can have tracks or not depending on how much time has been spent in the mine. Using these images it will allow me to further develop ideas for assets to add into the scene to make it look so plan and make it look alive.
Western Mine shaft Walls: I have looked into realistic and concepts of rocks formations for my wall in my mine shaft, I chose these images because each one gives a different ideas and ways I can layout my rock walls but also more of the realistic gives me ideas on how I can texture the rocks and how I can crack them and add more detail to bring them more to life in my project. I will be using these images as inspiration for rock formations and textures for the end product also looking at ores placed into the rocks as well.
Western Mine shaft Entrance: I collected example of entrances to mine shaft to give me some ideas of how I should make my entrance and how I can make my entrance suit the theme a lot more. I will be using these images for ideas and to help get a better understanding of how they look and how I can incorporate there designs into the rest of the mine shaft because it would be the same though out so doing one things with the supports outside would be done with the inside just some small changes.
